Jodi Ferrier is a DC artist creating contemporary original paintings. Floral paintings, abstract paintings, landscape paintings, urban paintings, still life paintings, all inspired by what she sees around her.

My work explores the space between abstraction and representation, using painting to interpret lived experience through color, gesture, and form. Rooted in observationβ€”landscape, interiors, still life, and the figureβ€”my compositions are transformed through an intuitive, process-driven approach.

I’m drawn to the tension between structure and spontaneity. Through layered paint, gestural mark-making, and shifting perspectives, I create images that feel both grounded and in flux. Familiar subjects become a starting point for exploring perception, memory, and the instability of place.

Rather than offering a fixed narrative, my paintings invite open interpretation. The distortion of space and interplay of color reflect a world that is fragmented, dynamic, and deeply personalβ€”leaving room for viewers to find their own connections.

Jodi Ferrier is a DC artist whose contemporary paintings lie somewhere between abstraction and representation. Her work has been collected throughout the US by private collectors, commercial properties, interior designers as well as the DC Government.
